Most patients who come here about headaches have a drawer of medication and a history of things that helped for a while. Some have a neurologist. Some have been told the next step is a different prescription, then a different one after that. The goal here is narrower and more honest than that: fewer of them, less severe, and less of your month spent in a dark room.

Where the headache originates matters more than what it is called. Headaches driven by the upper cervical spine and the muscles around it behave differently from migraine with a clear vascular pattern, and both can exist in the same person. The exam is trying to work out which parts of yours are mechanical, because those are the parts a chiropractor and an acupuncturist can do something about.

Jaw clenching, neck restriction, and shoulder tension all feed this. So does the thing nobody asks about, which is what your sleep and your stress have been doing for the last six months.

What we tell patients about results

Nobody here will promise your migraines stop. What patients report is a change in frequency and intensity, and the ones who see it usually see something inside the first few sessions rather than after twenty. If nothing has shifted by then, that is worth saying out loud rather than selling you another package.
